Here is a look at some of the top performers from the past week of Houston high school boys soccer action. Nominations can be submitted to jmarrion@hcnonline.com each week by Sunday night.

Jeffrey Boedeker, Tomball Memorial

The sophomore midfielder had a breakout offensive night with a hat trick with a 5-1 victory against Klein in District 15-6A action. The win kept the Wildcats in postseason contention.

Felipe Cardozo, Langham Creek

Cardozo and the Lobos notched two shutouts in 16-6A play, stopping Cypress Springs 3-0 and Cypress Park 2-0.

Helaman Cortes, Spring Woods

The Tigers earned a 2-0 victory against Stratford to stay in the 17-6A playoff race, led by Cortes’ goal and assist.

Kevin Garcia, Columbia

Garcia assisted the only goal in a 1-0 victory against first-place Needville, then netted five goals in a 9-2 rout of La Marque in 21-4A action. The junior has 23 goals for the season.

Allen Iverson-Rojas, Cypress Ridge

The junior midfielder was in on every goal in a 4-1 victory against Memorial, scoring once with three assists as the Rams clinched the 17-6A title.

Charlie Johnston, The Village School

Johnston scored twice to keep the Vikings close in the TAPPS Division I state semifinals against San Antonio Central Catholic. The senior earned all-tournament honors, along with teammate Sebastian Lozano.

Christian Lewis, St. Thomas Episcopal

A first-team TAPPS all-state selection last year, Lewis was one of four Saints to make the all-tournament team after leading them to the Division III state final.

Gaspar Markez, The Woodlands

The senior midfielder scored twice, including the Highlanders’ first, in an 8-0 rout of Cleveland as The Woodlands clinched the 13-6A title.

Jayce Morris, Lake Creek

Morris’ two goals helped the Lions start the week with a 6-1 victory against Brenham, keeping them in the middle of the 21-5A playoff chase. The senior has 13 goals for the season.

Juan Rodriguez, Clear Springs

Rodriguez scored twice in a 5-0 shutout of Brazoswood, helping the Chargers stay undefeated in 24-6A and increase his season total to nine goals.

Carter Sasser, Bellaire

Sasser netted a hat trick in a 5-2 victory against Sam Houston, bringing his season total to seven. The Cardinals are a half-game behind first-place Lamar with a showdown coming Friday.
