and lyricist has been on the international
blues and rock scene for a long time.
He has developed his own unique
style and sound: “Groovy Blues”.

“Uncle” John Turner, Junior Wells,
Willie “The Touch” Hayes,
Angela Brown, “Big” Joe Turner,
Erin Jaimes, Linus ( Kal X Blue ) and many more.
Jan Gerfast & “Uncle” John Turner toured
with a joint show on several occasions
and that gave Jan Gerfast a natural
connection to the Texas Blues.
“Uncle” John Turner was Johnny Winter’s
original drummer
( first 3 albums and Woodstock – 69 ).
Jan Gerfast has done more than 3000 gigs in

Jan Gerfast – Short biography
Jan Gerfast was born in 1954.
He grew up in Osby, southern Sweden.
He started to play the blues guitar
at the end of the 60s.
Living as a vagabond in the 70s.
Stayed among other places in Paris, France
as a street musician and later on,
playing in a jazz club there.
Came home and started a band called
“Blue Night”.
This band played experimental rock music.
At this time Jan lived a kind of hippie life
in the woods.
At the beginning of the 80s, Jan was backing up
other Swedish artists live and in the studio.
At the end of the 80s, he formed his own band
again and started to play a lot live in Sweden.
Later on in the rest of Scandinavia,
Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg,
France, Poland, etc
He has released 11 albums in his own name.
The previous album “Black & White”,
was released in 2018.
A new album with the title
“Legendary Grooves”
was released in December 2021!
